Network share path rather than mapped drive path
« on: February 26, 2008, 07:25:17 am »

Hi all,
I've just finished moving all of my files from a terastation over to a hp media server. This time, rather than mapping the share as a drive letter in windows I've changed all of MC's library file entries to point to the share name on the network.
This all works fine, except that my subtitles have stopped loading up when playing movies.

I am using vsfilter (directvobsub) to display subtitles, and I keep them all in one folder to keep things tidy. If I point vsfilter to look at my mapped network drive (terastation) it loads the subtitles fine and plays back the movie fine. However if I tell it use the sharename path, it never works.
ie. it understands
"z:\Video\Subtitles\"
but doesnt understand
"\\hpserver\Video\Subtitles"

Is that a limitation of vobsub? Is there some way to get it to understand the sharename path, or will i have to just go ahead and give that share a mapped drive letter?
