ripping a DVD

I tried to rip a concert video into MC and as soon as I clicked the rip button the little circle appeared and MC locked up. The little aqua colored circle never stopped spinning. I rebooted and the same thing occurs. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

Is the DVD in question copy protected?
MC12 should not defeat copy protection due to the long arm of the lobbiest and well rewarded lawmakers.
If this is a home made copy then the format could be in error or your codecs are not installed.
VISTA has copy right protection buttoned up on a default install.
