Support for srt and other subtitles files?

Hello,

i tried to use J River to read some video files with external subtitles (in .srt files) but i didn't succeed.

Does J River support external subtitles files?

Yes, if the videos are played in DirectShow, AND DirectVobSub filters are installed on your computer. Put the subtitle file in the same directory as the video file itself, and use the same file name as the video file. DirectVobSub can be installed as part of CCCP.

JRiver doesn't need to support external subtitle files directly. These can be better handled by DirectShow filters. You can just install the CCCP filter pack for getting support for various subtitle formats.

Thanks for your quick replies! It's working now  :D

To complete your description if someone else wants to do it, to activate it i need to select the video file type (avi for instance) and check the "DirectVobSub (autoloading)" in the list of 'Other filters'
