Tagging- Album One Character Short
« on: April 16, 2008, 11:03:45 pm »

Many of my files now show the album with the last character truncated.
In other apps, it is complete, MC does not display it anywhere.
This is a recent (last 3-4 builds) thing.
If I edit one of the files with MC, all apps show the complete album name.
If I then edit with any other tool, MC shows it with the final character truncated.
Import, close MC and move the file, allow MC to discover its missing, close MC, put the file back, open MC. Same result.
I'm stumped.

This happens with many files, but not all. Ideas?

What file type?

Could you email a sample file to matt at jriver dot com?

Thanks!

Thanks Gary.

Using the latest build, if I import those files fresh, I get full albums:
For Those About to Rock We Salute You
You Gotta Go There To Come Back

I'm not sure what this means.  You might check Plug-in Manager > MP3 > Configure... to see if you have ID3v2 reading disabled.

Here's how the plugin is set.

Simply deselecting the 'during analysis' box corrected the problem. I never analyze the selections, so that was not obvious to me.

Thanks!

If it was set to ignore ID3v2 tags, I think you must have set it to that at some point.

The default is to use all available tags, ID3v2 included.

Thanks Matt.

I do not remember setting this option, but deselecting it did the trick.
