High Blood Pressure
« on: March 12, 2008, 04:51:18 pm »

I Watched A Show On Discovery The Other Day, And they Said Man Is The Only Animal That is Aware Of His Mortality. That Kind Of Sounds Strange To Me But I Guess It Is True. I Never Thought About My Mortality When I Was Younger Getting Shot At, And Being "GungHoe".

So When Is "Man" Aware of His Mortality?

My job Is Very Stressful, And The People I Work With Make It More Stressful.

Sunday I Noticed I Had A Headache, And Monday I Had A Headache, Dizziness, And Blurred Vision.
So Monday I Came Home About 10Am.

I Went To My Dr's Office The Nurse Took My BP, It Was 150 Over 100

Later I Took My Fluid Pills That I Have Not Taken In Like 3 Weeks, And Rested.

Today My Dr. Is Running more Tests On Me.

I Think my Medical Records Are About 4 Inches Thick Now (Last 10 Years).

I Remember the day when I Could Run 10 Miles, Jump From Planes, Then Road March Back To Post.

I'm Getting Old.

Since most animals seem to try to avoid Death, I would question that statement...

My medical plan is to try not to think about mortality, or blood pressure, or people who give me the finger for being in their way on the road.  I'm not very good at it, but I try.

Every Year I Look At Who Died.

Sometimes It Is "Oh My God"

Red Skeleton, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra....

People Who Have Accomplished More Fame Than The Average Joe, Who You May Think When you're Young Will Never Die.

How Long Will Their Name Be On The Lips Of The Living Like

Zeus , Hades, Apollo, Hermes etc...

They Sort Of Live Beyond The Mortal Mans Life Span

My Marker (Or Hefty Bag) Will Say "R.I.P Mark" In Magic Marker

You'll have a double wide Hefty bag.

I thought of Captain Video the other day.  I wonder where he is now.

Kingo--

I think it's time you and your Doctor map out an exercise program, something that you will actually do.  Walking, for example.  You walk hard enough and you won't have time to meditate on your supposed mortality, I double guarantee you.

A. Most of the human body is made up of water, H2O, with cells consisting of 65-90% water by weight. Therefore, it isn't surprising that most of a human body's mass is oxygen. Carbon, the basic unit for organic molecules, comes in second. 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of just six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus.

Oxygen (65%)
Carbon (18%)
Hydrogen (10%)
Nitrogen (3%)
Calcium (1.5%)
Phosphorus (1.0%)
Potassium (0.35%)
Sulfur (0.25%)
Sodium (0.15%)
Magnesium (0.05%)
Copper, Zinc, Selenium, Molybdenum, Fluorine, Chlorine, Iodine, Manganese, Cobalt, Iron (0.70%)
Lithium, Strontium, Aluminum, Silicon, Lead, Vanadium, Arsenic, Bromine (trace amounts)

Thats 28

Maybe it's the meds.  Years ago, my dad had a terrible problem that vanished completely when he stopped taking the valium the doctor had prescribed.

I'm a former chemisty major, and I don't trust the chemisty of pharmaceuticals.

Me and my boss kind of had words this morning...

I was going to take the High Blood Pressure meds I Just got them today.

The Only Thing I am taking Is Nexium And Ambion Right Now (And Now Lexapro), and the dr. said that would not cause it.

Your insurance pays for nexium?  Wow!  I'm on prevacid (which they might pay for) to the tune of $307 a month.  (That should burn through the deductible rapidly.)  Nexium was even more.  (Like $360.)

I Have A Civilian Doctor But

The Meds Are Free For Me And My Wife (On Fort Bragg, NC) Since I Am Retired Military.

The Only Pills They Do Not Carry Are Levitra, Cialis, Viagra Etc... Type Pills

If they don't have something I just need My Dr. To Change The Prescription To Something They Carry At The Pharmacy.

It is one of the only Retired benefits I Use.

Oh And That Too, But Not As Much As I Did Before, I Don't Drink As Much As I Did Due To Liver Problems. Only On Special Occasions.

Note: The "Class VI" Store Is A Liquor Store On A Military Post Or Base

Oh, me too! Now I only drink on the days that end with a "Y".

Just kidding, but I do enjoy a good bottle of wine every now and then. The prices on base can't be beat in town.

The Past Two Weeks Have Been Good For Me, I Think My Region Manager Talked To My Boss About His Temper.

I Am Taking Celexa Now (A AntiDepressant) Max Dose 40 Mg

Bp Is Better

My Psychiatrist Thinks I Am Doing Better, So It Is Not Just In My Head (He Is Helping Me Deal With My Problem With My Boss).

Tomorrow Me And Sue Leave For A Small Vacation.

We Are Going To The Duplin Winery Tomorrow, And Then Down To Wilmington, NC For A Few Days.

We Are Also Going To See:

Oak Island Lighthouse, USS Battleship North Carolina, Fort Fisher, Old Baldy Lighthouse, Cape Fear Museum Of History, North Carolina Aquarium.

I Should Have Plenty of Pictures

I Am Back!

Also The Tour Of USS Battleship North Carolina Was Very Good, Because You Could Explore The Inside Of The Ship.

What Was Interesting Was The New Sub "North Carolina" Was Being Christened Today, But Due To All The Security I Could Not Get Any Pictures Of It.

We Also Climbed The Steps To The Old Baldy Lighthouse So My Legs Kind Of Hurt.

I Did Take Pictures Of The Trip And I Will Provide Links To Soon.
