Willie Nelson in 1969
JimH:
The Viet Nam war was at its peak. The mood of the country was a lot like it is now.
But Willie Nelson was around then. I just came across a web site with a great old photo of him in 1969.

I Bought 3 For Me And Sue Tonight From A Place I Found On Sunday Sue's Subs (Subs, Gyros And Oriental Food)
Owned By A Chinese Owner (I Thought That Was Interesting) Serving Greek Food.
They Were Better Than Miami Subs
We Only Ate Two Of Them.
I Guess That Sort Of Goes With A "Boy Named Sue" (Sue's Subs, My Wife Name Is Sue).
I Had The 45 (For The "New Kids On The Block", Thats Not A Gun, It's A Small Album, Used To Store Music On A Disk Like A CD But Without the Laser)
When I Was A Kid On The Farm We Called The Cows To Feed By Calling Out "Sick-a-me Sue"
JimH:
We said, on the plains of Nebraska, "Here boss, come boss, come bossie, come bossie."
Or, with pigs, my aunt would call, "Here pig, come pig, sooie, sooie, soo--ie!"
And, when playing hide and seek, we said "allie allie ox in free". Later, I figured out it meant something like "All that's out's in free."
John Gateley:
Johnny Cash doing Nine Inch Nails' Hurt is a pretty amazing cover...
j
"I think I'll name him Bill or Joe or ANYTHING but Sue...."
