Hi,

Recently my RAID5 1TB array crashed. Due to some bug in the RAID Controller, the RAID configuration got lost and I could not access the 1TB drive even though all the hard drives were working fine. I recovered all the data with a RAID recovery software (irecover). Over 95% of the data seems to have recovered fine but there are some files that have not been recovered successfully. MC12 libray indicates that I have about 250GB audio, 400GB video and 50GB images in my library.

How can I check that each file can load in MC12 and play fine? Is this possible to do? I would like to get a report of which files failed to load properly so that I can re-rip them or somehow replace them.

thanks,
Osho

I don't think you can get such a report, but, have you tried, from the top menu bar: Player > Playback Options > Preview Mode > Play Warp Speed Preview (From 30 Seconds In)

Might help?

It's times like these when checksum files can be a lifesaver :)

So what format(s) are your audio files ?

Seems like you need to look for an integrity checker.

The files are in FLAC and MP3 mostly. about 50% each. Is there an integrity checker out there that can be run in a batch mode??

FLACTester works great and can scan recursively through folders + sub-folders, and it is FREE   ;)

edit:  OK looks like they updated it and included other codecs as well as Flac.
They say:  "A tool to test for errors in MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, WavPack & Monkey's Audio files"
now called AudioTester it can be found here -->> http://www.vuplayer.com/other.php

Mp3utility will help with the mp3s, also has recursive checking if you look in the options.

Thanks for the FLACtester suggestion. Looks like this would solve my problem. I will try it out as soon as I go home!
