Update killed windows explorer shell
« on: May 10, 2008, 07:16:00 am »

I just updated to 12.0.494 with the implication that the shell-folder "Media Center", with options to import files or add to playing now etc., disappeard.

Shell integration is enabled and the file type is assosiated with MC. It plays from explorer, but the shell folder is gone.

After some upgrades, you need to reboot to get shell extensions back.

This is because Windows doesn't provide a way to ask it to unload shell extensions that are in use.

Thanks, I am sorry that I did not think of the obvious solution. I normally try not to turn off my computer.
