CD Support
« on: July 29, 2002, 08:32:42 pm »

Let me try re-wording this in the hope of getting better responce.

My SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-612 drive:

 works fine playing DVDs

works fine playing MP3 files from CD

works fine getting track info and looking up CDDB on music CDs
but blows up each time it attempts open to open a .cda file

All other programs I've tried work fine reading .cda files digitally (Windows Media Player, Real Jukebox II Plus, Intervideo WinDVD, NTI CD-Maker 2000, etc.)

I have the device settings as you recommend.  It's not ASPI, I checked it... besides, my other drive works fine.  I'm running Windows98 SE, and the CD drives are IDE ATAPI.

Does it work in analog playback mode?  Under XP, analog can still be digital if you configure it that way.  (XP pretends it's doing analog, but really isn't)

And does ripping work?

Thanks.
