The Holy Grail, for me, would be to use a MJ PC to send its output through the LAN to an IP device that would then be connected to an A/V receiver either through analog stereo or digitical cables.

There are several devices that connect to the PC through USB and connect to the A/V receiver the way I'm looking for. Also several that connect to the PC through Ethernet, BUT want to handle and decode your music files directly (usually, requiring MP3, WMA, and maybe WAV). But I want to drive the home stereo from my PC (and would prefer to leverage the CAT 5 connections that are already there).

Am I dreaming?
