tv-tuner cards

i just tried your program and like what i see but i just don't understand why there is only support for those 2 cards why not make support for the Bt8xx WDM video adquisition Driver and you would get support for a lot of cards and you can read the whole sourcecode for the driver becouse it's open license so i would recommend adding that driver to your libary it shouldn't be that hard, i wish you good luck in the future with your projekt and is looking forward to the next version og mj

I agree with you,
my Pinnacle PCTV Card is one of these...

Please let us hope.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried the driver with Pinnacle Systems' Studio PCTV PRO. With a little modification of my code, it works (with exception of Closed Captioning). The modification may also have fixed the problem some Hauppauge WinTV users have recently experienced.

I am not ready to release a new build yet since I am working adding new features to TV. Stay tuned.

I'm a little confused here.  My I/OMagic tv card works with MJ8, and I always was under the impression it was a rebranded Pinnacle PCTV.

What exactly doesn't work with you guys' cards?

Thanks Yaobing for your reply & for your good news.

Infact PCTV card seems work, but MJ can't find the TV Tuner...
Anyhow at least I'll stay tuned to you! :)

Thank again and happy holidays to you all!

Robert,
The PCTV cards come with VfW drivers instead of WDM drivers. They do not plan to release any WDM drivers so the third party WDM driver is the probably the way to go. If your TV card works, especially Scan Channel function, then yours already have a WDM driver.

Stebajo,
With VfW driver there is no easy way of accessing TV tuner. That is why yours works only to display currently tuned channel. You will have to install the third party WDM driver suggested here (when I release a new build of TV component).
