Can anybody tell me how often does the library backup and can the directory for the backups be changed.

Cheers

I don't know how often MC makes automatic backups, but you do know that you can make manual ones any time and choose exactly where they go, right?

Hi,

Yeh I know that but if you forget it looks to me like it only backs up once a month.

I would have thought that all the work that goes into naming tagging etc that a backup every time you close it would be good.

I recently had a computer crash and I had to re tag a lot of files that had not gone into the backup.

Cheers

Always painful when that happens... or when MC crashes during a tagging session. Normally the library itself is saved frequently - like every few minutes, so that when you come back from a crash, only the most recent changes have been lost. Sometimes, though, your default library can become corrupted, and then it's bad news unless you backed up recently.

i think it runs a backup every two days (when mc is used) and keeps two months or something like that from these backups. besides that it takes a backup every month. look in the folder in your user data on the c disk (maybe you have to enable hidden data to find it). there is a folder called 'library backups'.
