Trouble downloading MP3 (VBR) encoder
« on: July 27, 2002, 03:44:43 am »

I want to rip a cd and as format mp3 or vbr, but not WMA. If a change the settings, it says that i have to download the mp3 plugin.
The problem here is that when he's downloading, i always get the message "can not connect to a server".
My question is, is there somewhere where i can enter my proxy-setting (I have a cable broadbandconnection and sometimes i have to enter my proxy settings for such things) for downloading plug-ins (and not for cddb) or could somebody mail me the plug-ins and then i will import the plug-ins.
Thanks already, by summer ghost

btw my e-mailadress is: koen_vaneverbroeck@hotmail.com

Yep, me too. One of the older builds of MJ had a terrible time getting plug-ins installed. Currently using .334. This one works really good. You may not be able to download this build, but .336 in a thread available on Interact should do the trick.

Maybe try this first and see if it helps.

This problem is almost always a firewall or proxy server problem.

Proxy server settings from IE are used for MJ, with the exception of CDDB which has its own settings.

Try with IE.
