Playlist on Data CDs?
« on: July 26, 2002, 08:52:28 am »

Hi.

I have been trying to find out how to take that automatic playlist file off of my burned music data CD's because it messes up my portable CD/mp3 player.  Any help?

You can't if it's a CD-R. You can if it's a CD-RW and formatted w/ DirectCD (just erase the file). With my SlimX 350 it will run a playlist (*.M3U) only if u tell it to, otherwise it just plays the tracks in it's default ascending track name order.

PS: Using DirectCD (packet write format) is the way to go for obvious reasons. The DCD overhead does drop capacity on a 650 MB RW disk to ~535 MB. Still plenty of space w/ max flexibility.

This is frustrating.

May we suggest that Media Jukebox consider making the playlist "optional" or are we stuck with this?
