Every time I start the program the volume level of WAVE (In Volume Control applet) is set to the maximum. The master volume is not changed but it means I have to turn down the WAVE slider to a lower level before I play anything.

I cannot see any other posts about this (WAVE OUT settings seem to be the nearest serach match that I keep getting).

Any help would be much appreciated.

there are some things you can check. first go to options>start up>startup volume and make sure the set volume to: is disabled or set it to 50% or something like that.
you could also click on the small speaker besides the volume bar in mj and set it to internal volume, or VV.

Thanks for the welcome Gappie and for the advice.

I had the option "optimise volume for best sound volume" checked, I un-ticked it and that stopped the WAVE volume being adjusted.
