importing wav files

I'm using MJ 7.2.272 and the "Import Media" tool doesn't recognize (nor list in advanced search) wav files!  Can this be true?

Yeah, yeah, I don't have the plus version, but before I turn over the cash, I want to know certain basics are available.

Also, does MJ add CD text on the burn, can it read CD text on the rip?
