Should I switch to MC13?
« on: October 18, 2008, 09:58:00 am »

I use MC12 purely for playing music and organising my music database.
I also used to have an Ipod, but I sold it and bought an Iphone 3G, which is unfortunately not (yet) supported by MC.
Should I switch to MC13?
What are according to you the benefits?

Thanks and cheers!

i won't pay for mc13 for at least a few more builds. and i won't be paying for it until it supports the 3G iphone

Supporting the 3G Iphone has more to do with it being Apple's fault, not JRiver's.  Personally, I find apple's behavior regarding the new units to be utterly despicable.

There are many very nice improvements in MC13 but the one that really stands out for me is performance. If you have a large library, MC13 is much faster at displaying a view.

I have about 20000 songs. Would you consider that large?

I would call 20,000 small. I don't know if you will see a performance difference. If performance is important to you, suggest you try the MC13 free trial.

It is a small price in euros anyway :)

oh, i understand apple is the evildoer here, but that doesn't mean it is leaving my wishlist.

was apple one of the companies that cried foul at microsoft for their business tactics some time ago?
