99 minute ripping

Note to the developers -- I can't rip past about 94 minutes on a 99 minute cd.  Please remove the limitation.

How do you get 99 minutes on a CD?  Aren't they limitted to 74?

The original cd spec was a max of 74 minutes.  Then the 80 minute blanks came out.  This year I purchased some 90 and 99 minute blanks.  Your burner must support them, my TDK 32x does.  And your burning software must support overburning.  Nero does.

If you use some of the longer blanks, some older cd players will not play them properly.  I'd guess due to the narrower tracks.  They play just fine for me in my home Sony cd changer and my car player (once I tossed the compusa 99 minute blanks)....

Many ripping programs won't rip past about 94 minutes, including Media Jukebox.  Nero will.

As a software developer, I'd guess they are running out of addresses for the additional data.  But that's just a guess.

Either way, it can't be hard to fix in the code, as long as someone lets them know of the limitation.

I'll try to get hold of some of these and see if it's an easy fix.

Thanks for the heads up.
