mp3pro plugin
« on: July 24, 2002, 05:06:07 pm »

I noticed you have a new and improved mp3pro plug-in on your input plug-in page. I was wondering how it works because when I try to install it it seems like it did nothing but it does say the plugin was successfully installed. Does this plug-in replace the normal mp3 plug-in and if so does it decrease the performance on normal mp3 files like the Thompson decoder plug-in (for winamp) did. If you have made a plug-in that works equally well as the original MJ mp3 plug-in and does mp3pro then cudos for you and all here using MJ. I myself don't currently use mp3pro (it is inferior in my mind) but there seems to be a little buzz and interest in it's use by some in the so called biz. I just like to see JRiver keep up with what people want in MJ and it's all-in-one perfection for all those who just want another choice in music formats. Keep up the good work and I really appreciate the speed in which you are keeping up with the developement of the current codecs ie. Vorbis and MPC and even this MP3Pro.

I think it is just for playback but it doesn't seem to properly install even though it say's it does. Perhaps we could get a reply from the author of the plug-in. It is a new plug-in but I don't think it's quite ready yet but maybe I have done something wrong.
