I would like it if the user could select what changes to a file would cause the date modified to change, such as only the artist, album, title, track number, covert art, and rating (the only info an iPod displays).

Or perhaps a selectable "Lock Date Modified" while masstagging is performed.

I updated the genres on 50,000 of my tracks, and it required a 7 hour resync for my 160gb iPod. Not fun.
