Do you mean "save to disk"?

Press the print button (on top right) and save the page as html or txt from your browser.

If you want to include all images and links you can save the page in the web archive format (.mht) from the I.E. and Opera browsers. An .mht file can be read with the same browsers.

IE has File/Save As.  Is that what you mean?

Sometimes a thread contains several instructions on how to do something, but the instructions are not all in the same post. They sorta get added to and modified as the problem gets resolved. And if the thread contains a whole lotta posts, it is cumbersome to try to save them individually and then sew them back together in Notepad or some other application.

I've seen other forums where the threads are more of a round-table discussion with several contributors over a period of time whereas here the threads are usually a question that gets answered in subsequent replies. Those forums have a button somewhere that lets one save the entire thread.

Some of the threads in this forum contain a lot of interesting information that one wouldn't expect by just looking at the thread's title.

As I said, you can press the Print button and save the thread as html or txt from your browser. It would contain all pages in a simple text only format.

The mht format can save a complete web page in a single file, but it can save only one page at a time.

What does that button actually do? Is it the same as the "Print" button here? Could you post a link to an example forum?

I think a button is asked for here that combines several pages into one.

After that you just save as usual.

I just tried that in IE7 and It Only Saved The Page You Were on, If You Select Next (Next Page), You Will Jump Back To The Forum.

A two-page thread:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=48198.0

The "print" version has all replies on a single page:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?action=printpage;topic=48198.0

The attached screenshot shows only the print button. There are more buttons when you are logged in.

I was wondering what "Print" you were talking about.

Alex You Must Have One Huge Brain.

Hmmmm. I'm logged in and the Print button is the last one on the right - didn't see any other print-associated buttons.

Anyway, what I am looking for is a way to see what you see in the above-quoted link you published. An entire thread on the screen. How did you get that? If I can get that, then I can save that scrolling screen using SnagIt, or by using the File Save Page As command in IE6.

How did you get that?

By pressing the print button. It creates a "printable", basic text version of the html code.

(I mentioned the other buttons only because the screen looks different when you are logged in. I happened to be logged off when I created the screenshot.)
