Removing registration information from work PC

(1/1)

dremo:
I've had MC installed and registered on my work PC for a couple years. I'm now leaving the company and would like to remove MC along with my registration information from the PC. Will the Uninstaller clean out the registry of my activation key? Thanks.

Drew

I am not sure

good question.

This registry tweak will work but you need to be careful not to delete any keys not relevant to JRiver MC or you may find yourself with a disabled PC.

Uninstall MC using your control panel.

Go into Windows File Explorer and delete any residual files and folders.

Go into your Registry (only if you are a confident user) and use your tools to search for specific keywords related to JRiver MC. There may be many. When you find them delete the key in the right hand panel. If it were me, I'd search "JRiver" "MC" and "Media Center".

Once completed give her a restart and do your registry search again - just to be sure.

There are other issues but we don't need to go into further detail with Media Center.

Be careful - on the other hand leaving these keys wouldn't hurt either. Why would you want to remove these values?

When you uninstall it, doesn't it ask you whether you want to leave your registration information behind?  Seems like that happened to me when I uninstalled MC 12 from my work PC.
