Digital TV Card with IrDeto decoding card
« on: January 19, 2009, 02:11:08 pm »

Ok. First of all I have to tell you I am new to digital TV recording and especially with all technical terms surrounding it.

This this what I have setup today at home in the Netherlands (Europe):
I have got a HUMAX digital decoder (DVB decoder?) which is connected to the cable (same as internet modem). The card that is in the decoder is an IrDeto card. This setup to make it possible to watch digital TV.

This is what i want. To record the digital programs I currently watch through the decoder. I would prefer to do that with MC13.

This is what I think I need:
a tv card (for my PC) that excepts my IrDeto card. This card enables me to connect a big screen to watch TV, but also enables me to record a program (while watching another).

I think I am not looking for DVB-T devices becauise they are for wireless digital braodcasts.
Maybe I am looking for a DVB-C, hoping the C stands for Cable???
And if so, does any DVB-C card except my IrDeto encoding card?

So far my knowledge .... can anyone help ar advise???!!

Media Center does not currently support DVB-C for digital video broadcast over cable.
