Override default file type option?

Hi,

Is there a way to override the 'File Type' option of a media file, on a per-file basis? So, if I have videos set to play using an external player, but want to play them in the MC player one time (e.g. to create a thumbnail) can I do this? I've tried all the play options (I think) but don't know if there's some combination I'm missing.

Otherwise, I have to do the laboriously manual step of changing all the file types back just to create a thumbnail of a video I've just imported. Then change them all back again when I'm done.
