I love storage technology.  None of this 'we can't make it better so we'll just stick more of them in' type malarcy that you get with processors
Nope they just carry on year on year fitting more on to them :)

If I take my previous 21TB planned server and stick these in, that would be 42TB in the same chassis!  I even think that's overkill...of course I thought 7TB would last me forever.

Aww why stop there, you'd only need fifty of these beasts and you'd have aprox 0.1 PB :-)

Does anyone know the technology roadmap for drives? When are we likely to see 4TB drives? Or is 2TB pushing the limits and further progress will be slow?
