parallel processing of Analysing Audio
« on: February 09, 2009, 03:11:35 pm »

Does 13 have parallel processing of Analysing Audio?  I was told that version 12 DID but it really doesn't.  It maxes out only one out of my 4 cores at a time. (weirdly moving that max to difference cores after the finish of each file)

MC 13 allows you to analyze up to four files at one time.  Each analyze uses several threads.

It's possible your disk will be the bottle-neck before your CPU, unless you're coming off an SSD.

I was told the same thing about 12.  How is it different in 13?

I was told the same thing about 12.

You're right, both versions can analyze files in parallel.

Like I said, it's unlikely even a Raptor could feed multi-threaded data fast enough to run something like an i7 at full hog, at least if you use lossless files.
