Portable Media Player - unregister

Due to a previous problem with my DRM, I tested PMC on three laptops. I had plugged in my Windows Mobile phone on each laptop when testing and each laptop registered the phone as a different device. I DEACTIVATED the wrong device and used up the one "deactivation" per month

Is there a way to clean out all activations and start fresh?

Help?  :'(

Ooops! Sorry I misunderstood and was waiting. I just tried it and it works.

I have a question though. Just so I don't mess up again. If I use the same windows mobile phone and sync on multiple PCs, will each device be identified as a separate activation? I have three systems that I use regularly (Home PC, Work PC and Laptop). If I use PMC on each system and need to sync will that be considered three activations?

OK... I am back.... Similar problem. ?

I have my phone activated on two systems. Everything was working fine untill now. I uploaded some songs to the phone. Disconnected the phone as I had a meeting to go to. After I came back I reconnected the same phone to the same PC and tried to add a few more songs. Now it says I have used up all my activation and thinks this is a new device. It is the exact same phone and nothing has changed on the phone.

Did I do something wrong?  ?

I removed your registrations so you should be able to use it again. Did you format the device at any point? If the device is formatted,  you use up one of the registrations.

Nope. I have been using the same SD card for about 1 year. One possible change between the successful and unsuccessful attempts may be that after the successful attempt I setup a partnership with activesync. Previously I was using a guest connection with Activesync. Does this make a difference?

It may have seen it as a different device after setting up the partnership. Let us know if it happens again.

Looks Good so far. On one system.

I transfered music three times disconnecting and reconnecting and it was successful. Next I will try with my laptop and see what happens. (But I already have a activesync partnership setup so I am hoping I won't see it again)

Update: Since my last post I have not yet sync'd with a second system. I am still using one system to load all my music. And today I get the message that I have used up all my activations.

I do have the option to delete one activation but I don't see any point in using it if this is going to happen every few days. I have not made any changes to my PC or to my phone.

Any suggestions/pointers?

We believe the problem is caused by the device continually changing ID's.  We're not sure what can be done at this time.  It appears to be a flaw with Windows Media DRM.  We're not done looking though.

Hmmmm... Interesting... Do you think that is something in my device that is causing this or have you guys seen this on other "activesync'd" devices?

We're not sure what can be done at this time.  It appears to be a flaw with Windows Media DRM.  We're not done looking though.
