Can't install Wavpack plugin
« on: December 30, 2008, 11:19:07 am »

Hi there!
I'm using MC 13.0.95 and I can't play WV audio files. I tried to install the in_wavpack-v2.3.0 plugin but MC says "The input plugin 'Wavpack Plugin' is not the correct version. Plugin version: 1. Required version: 2.".
Where am I wrong? Is this plugin only for version 12 of MC?

I already made a request to implement the wavpack plugin again in this thread:

Hopefullly they'll look into it.

Fortunately I don't have a lot ot WV files, so I convert them to flac before importing them, and I'm using flac for the newly imported cd's as well. So, in the end, I'm not suffering much, fortunately.
The directshow codec alone is not sufficient, because MC doesn't save the tags into the files, and this is a problem when you want to move the files on another device or another pc. I'm importing my cd's on my work pc and then move them to the htpc (with no keyboard) in the living room when all the tags I use are ready, so Library Sync is not a good option either, because I can't choose which files I want to transfer (I think I'll add a feature request about this, because it would be very useful for videos).

Here is a wavpack input plugin for MC13. Put it in your plugins dir and add it with add plugin under plugin manager. You'll also have to check the wv file association under options, file associations.

Encoder coming soon.

The attached zip file includes both the input and encoder plugins. There was a small change to the input plugin for where it stored it's options in the registry.

You should be using the current version of MC13. These will be in a future build.

Hello,
I though it was better to continue this subject instead of creating a new one for problem with wavepack on MCC13.
So I've problems with the last bob's plugin  :( :

- The import function doesn't work with my wv files and they can't be added to my library
- Although .wv files are well associated with MCC I can't play them from "File > Open" and the explorer.
The only way to do it is to manually drop them in the "Playing Now".

My system :
MCC 13 13.0.145
File Association set to "Automatic" with wv

Thanks for your answer !  :)

File Association can not be "Automatic".  It is a check box that you must check.  Perhaps you meant "Playback Method" is Automatic.
