Rename a file location

Hi,

If I insert a cd into the database, I see by file locations a folder called 0x9f626544, how can I change this in 'Music CD1' or something?

Looks like you have opened a file in an Email possibly.  What you need to do is highlight the track or tracks showing at that location and use properties to change the location.

No, what I did is imported a new cd to the database, the name of the cd then is that strange number, but I like to have this number named 'music cd 1' or something.

Sorry, but if you import and then look at file location, you will see that hex number.

However, you can create a library view scheme using "Volume Name" to use the name of the disk.  Will that do the trick?

I can do that, but then I can't see all the diferent folder on that cd.

And also when I search for a songs, I see that location in the list, how can I know on which cd it is??

Ideally, try to ignore that hex number.

We use it so that if you import from one CD drive, and then put the CD into another drive, we'll still know what's going on. (we map to the disc instead of the drive)

But How can I see on which cd a album is stored?

Maybe you can make a description for every cd, so that I don't have to look at the hex number but see the description, the program can use the hex number if he want to.

This way it looks nice, and I can see where a album is stored.

I hope this can be done in a future version, because now this program is complete useless because I never can see on which CD a album or song is stored.

How do other people do this, or am I the only one storing my music on CD's?
