Assorted/Various/Multiple - schizophrenia?!
« on: April 21, 2009, 06:16:38 pm »

Can anyone help me understand why the apparent schizophrenia in terminology for Assorted, Various Artists and Multiple Artists.  Cannot one consistent name be chosen or configured in MC?  Or am I missing something?  Minimally, I'd expect the "Various Artists" usage in the grouping title ("... by Various Artists") to be consistent with the Artist field shown in the Artist column at the top of the attached image.

...you have a point :) I'm all for consistency... don't really mind which one sticks though.

But is it schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder?

I'd noticed this as well. And I totally agree.

But is it schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder?

I'm using the oft-used, common form of the word:

2. a. state characterized by the coexistence of contradictory or incompatible elements.

2  contradictory or antagonistic qualities or attitudes.

2. A situation or condition that results from the coexistence of disparate or antagonistic qualities, identities, or activities.

If MC were human, it could be considered MPD!  :-)
