MC supports 2-ch WAV > 2Gb?

I can't seem to convert this WAV to APE and suddenly it dawned on me that perhaps the MC WAV reader does not support WAV files >2Gb. 

Is this the case?

I should add, Media Editor will not open the file and fwiw, MC seems to play the file just fine.
