CD-RW Bug Issues - Build 32

OK. Scratch the stuff from the other thread about gdi errors and such.

The writer is not detected by MJ as of yet. Gives an error message everytime. As near as I can tell, MJ is also not aware of the aspi layer either. Inserting a cd that has not been ripped yet brings up the query with the package installer. But, as you can see, it is there....

Jim - I believe you are right, it's just the burner that is having seizures at this point. Although I am not far behind.

Also, is the restore page case sensitive?

KingSparta,

I have tried 327 with about as much luck as 320. This glitch started with this one or maybe the next. Trying to narrow it down. It is the same either build, and there wasn't much difference between builds. The exception being .323 that, I think, had tagging or cover art problems.

Yes - an old PII does hurt. This fall though things will be different. I suppose by then 2.|PLS||PLS| P4 will be cheaper then they are now.

Machinehead,
Case sensitive restore?  Don't think so, but I'm not 100% certain.

Use copy and paste for your registration code.  It's in e-mail from buy-button @ jriver.com.

Try a search for multiple wnaspi32.dll files.

Did you run aspicheck (in the FAQ)?

There's a bug in Adaptec's ASPI updater for Win98. It neglects to add a necessary registry entry. If you're comfortable editing the registry, you can do the 4.71 aspiinst.exe procedure and then add this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\APIX
And then add this string value under the new key:
ExcludeMiniports=""     (just leave the value blank, you don't need the quotes)
Then reboot the system and try MJ again.

If you're not comfortable doing this, I can send you a file to automatically insert it in the registry. The next build of MJ will check for this value and create it if it's not there.

JohnT,

Downloading .329 now. Will get back to you later and see if all goes well.

Jim,

I manually typed it in from a printed copy. I think I do have the saved e-mail yet. I'll try again after download finishes.

Thanks guys for looking into this.
