'The' at the start of band names
« on: July 20, 2009, 05:58:14 pm »

Really annoying problem with my iPod.

My iPod lists bands such as 'The Beatles' alphabetically and so they are listed with groups beginning with T.

I changed the artist name to 'Beatles, The' but the problem still exists

I've tried changing the 'band' name to 'Beatles, The' but this doesn't solve the problem either.

Would really like help with this folks.

If it's a problem with your iPod, I wonder why it's posted here in the Media Jukebox forum section :).

Although, that's really strange. If "The" is no longer included in the artist field, I don't see how the database can still register them as "The Beatles"

Have you checked whether the songs are called "The Beatles" in the album artist field? Or maybe, they're sorted according to filenames?

Btw. To any MJ expert out there:
Usually I hate it the other way around; the sorting of artists beginning with 'The' among the bandnames starting with the letters after 'the'.
Hope it's possible to define how I want "The"-artists sorted in MJ?

Example:
Quote
Beanbag
Beam vs. Cyrus
Beastie Boys
The Beatles
Becoming The Archetype
Bee Gees
(...)
S.O.A.P.
The S.U.N. Project
S:O:N:U:S
Sabotage
Safri Duo
