iRock 500 Series
« on: July 10, 2002, 01:31:15 pm »

Any MJ users who are connecting to an iRock 500, could you please test the latest Plug-in (v 3.0.4) and notify me of any problems. iRock wants to certify that everything works well with the Plug-in across all platforms and hardware configurations, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I downloaded MJ V8.0 and installed without incident.

I have an iRock 500 which did not appear in the handhelds
list.

Even though the docs on the website indicate that the iRock
is recognized without an additional plug-in, I noticed that
there was a plug-in for the iRock.

After installing the plug-in, the iRock is now visible
in the handhelds list.
Clicking on the plug-in brings up an error box indicating that
the plug-in should be re-installed.

Clicking "oK" on the error box brings up a Windows error box
indicating that MJ has caused a system error and the program
is exited.

System info follows:

Media Jukebox  8.0.356
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: Intel Pentium III 798 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 261 MB, Free - 83 MB
Resource Info: System - 59 %, GDI - 81 %, User - 59 %
OS: Microsoft Windows Me

Internet Explorer: 6.0.2600.0000
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4704.1100
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2600.0000
Shell32.dll: 5.50.4134.100
wnaspi32.dll: 4.60 (1021) , ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL, Copyright © 1989-1999 Adaptec, Inc.
Aspi32.sys: N/A

MJ8 was removed and re-installed without any change.

The plug-in was re-installed without any change.

The problem is repeatable and predictable.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Best regards,

Marc

Marc,

Some iRock versions do not need a Plug-in because they are detected as a removable drive. The iRock 500 does. I will test with ME tomorrow and see if I can duplicate your problem.  In the meantime, can you confirm for me whether everything works for you if you connect with the software that came with the iRock?

Thanks,

Steve
