YADB VS CDDB
« on: April 27, 2003, 08:52:22 pm »

I am getting really tired of typing in all the cds I am trying to rip. I don't understand why I don't have the option of using CDDB anymore. I find that most of the cds I am putting on my computer can't be found in the YADB data base and now after doing the update I don't have the option of using CDDB. WHY???  This is very inconvenant. I just don't understand.

I fail to understand why the trouble with typing in the names ?

I do it my self so i can make sure it is correct.   i have had too many  errors on message boards with spelling  and i have checked out why.   it seems the larger amount of text that is sent on the internet can lose a letter or even a  couple in some lines, because of heavy use of one of the servers it has to pass through to be posted.     so getting the  names from online is not worth it to me.
i would rather have to type it once then check all the names for errors later. 8)

i also don't  rip complete cd's  only songs i like from one cd then get another   and mine are mixed artist cds, anyway.

If you do a search of this forum, you should find quite a few threads that explain why CDDB is no longer available in MJ/MC.

We have far fewer problems with YADB than we did with CDDB.

Thanks for all your responses, I was just feeling frustated because YADB did not find 3 cd's in a row that I thought it should be able to find. Life got better after that and I calmed down.
