Sticky Search?
« on: September 01, 2009, 07:31:08 pm »

I use Tiles, well I guess they are now now as Thumbnails.

All the time, Tiles, all over.

So when I search and see results and double click my Custom Artist Tiles, I don't browse albums returned by the search, I get funneled into my entire Albums view.

This seems so fundamentally unintuitive, I must be doing something wrong. My wife asked about this, but I'm posting on my behalf :)

One option is to select the Album link, but is there a way to keep search strings active?

This type of thing is an ongoing debate on the forum.

Advanced users like the ability to stack searches with panes with tile selection with anything else.

We think too much stacking is confusing.

To work with the current system, could you click the "Files" link on the Thumbnail?

Or if you're looking for an album, could you start at an Albums view?

I'm with Doctor Cilantro on this one in that, to us, at least, it feels so counter-intuitive, and at times, unbelievably frustrating.

Couldn't a prompt be introduced here:

"You currently have a search filter applied. Would you like to remove the filter?
YES  NO
[ x ] Don't ask again"
