DVD LInk
« on: September 08, 2009, 06:25:53 am »

Hi,

Few years ago, I import in my library many DVD with the backup of my MP3 in an older version of Media Center (probably 12). This days, i try to play some old song on this DVD. It woks fine when i try to open them in windows explorer, but when i try to do it in Media Center 14, it's not working and it comes with a error message (could not find this song). I check the link of the file and it's change. When i look in the library the name of the file begin with the name of the voleme then the folder and the name, but when i check in the explorer (in media center) it begin the letter of the disk then the folder and the name. So i know why it can't work. Is there a way to gobakc in the old days with the volume name?

Sorry for my english and thanks for your Help

It's normal for the volume name to appear inside Media Center.

The program should search _all_ available optical drives for the files in this case.

Is there anything special about the DVD drive you are playing from?

Thanks.

no, nothing special withis DVD, it's just a DVD with data (MP3).
The program find the optical drive, but it doesn't recognize the file in this disc like music of the library, beacause the filename start with B:\ and not the volume name (already import this disc in the library)

So to make sure I understand, you're using B:\ for your optical drive?

The program doesn't search below C:\ for an optical drive, so that's the problem.  This was done because it can be slow and terrible to access a floppy drive (A:\, B:\) in any way, so we just avoid it.

Could you use C:\ or higher?
