I started converting the format of many mp3s, using 128kbps and leaving the filetype as mp3.  After a while I started ripping a CD (the conversion process was about one third through).  For this I changed the file format to wma at 80kbps.  All the files converted *after* the time I started the CD rip were mp3s at 80kbps (and the sample rate was 32kHz), while the CD rip was done correctly, as were the mp3s completed before the CD rip.  Ughhh...

Encoding will get done exactly as you have it set.  When you encode, it's always good to check it first.

Wasn't I clear enough?

I started a multiple file conversion process.

While this was progressing, I started a rip process.

Files *converted* after the rip process was started (not the ripped files) were not converted with the attributes set for the conversion process - the bitrate (only) was changed to the bitrate of the files that were being ripped.
