When I click "compact disc (D)" on the organizational tree Media Jukebox disappears and the following message appears on the screen: "Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer. System halted."

Does anybody know what the problem is and how to fix it?

no but if you also include some system info, and go to MJ8 and "help" and System Info, you can paste that info here and maybe someone can help.

you could try installing a Upgraded ASPI, there are links in the FAQ

i think the current version is around 4.71 or something.

I tried installing the current ASPI version but I keep getting this message: C:\Windows\Desktop\ASPI_v471a2.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

delete that file

try this link, there seems to be somthing wrong with that file you have. I also think you got the wrong one, this is the first one under Windows ME
