iPod sync problem
« on: September 25, 2009, 09:13:20 pm »

I have 39,000 songs on my 160 GB, and am petrified I have to try to re-synch, but here's what happened:

1) I tried to sync and add about 500 songs.
2) It stopped short of the 500, leaving about 150 with an error and frozen.
3) I stopped the sync.
4) I ejected the Ipod.
5) I turned off MJ, and loaded it up again to retry and synch the remaining ones.
6) It did not read my plugged in Ipod.
7) Instead I got the following message:
CONFIRM INITIALIZE
The database on your Ipod is locked or not accessible. Please close ITunes or all programs that can lock it.
To use the Ipod, it must first be initialized. Would you like to initialize now?
8) I ejected the Ipod. On the Ipod, it says NO SONGS.
9) However, "My Computer" picks up the Ipod and says it's full (140GB used).

PLEASE HELP!  What should I do?

Reboot computer.
Do not open "my computer" or itunes.
Launch MC.
Wait a minute, then connect the device.
If it asks to confirm initialize again, let it.
