Hello,


I'm trying to use these features without any luck.

I read in the Wiki about both of them, but I do not get it work. I get the standard "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", and try to set the router, but it does not work as well.

I have a desktop and a laptop on a home network, both are running MC 14.0.71.
The computers are connected to a Siemens SL2-141 router (the desktop is wired and the laptop is on wi-fi). I can see both of them on the network, access files and use Remote Desktop.

When starting the Library Server, it uses port 81, and any try to connect from the client ti the server fails. I Tried to Port Forward and Allow ports in the Firewall.

I would appreciate any help on this.
I just have no idea what am I doing wrong.

Library Server and Remote Server are quite different.  Which do you want to use?  Or what do you want to do?

Try testing whatever you're running from the local machine, using IE.

I think the syntax is:

http:localhost if you're using port 80
or
http:localhost:81 in your case.

If you're running Library Server on port 81, take a look at the logs (under Library Server) to find out what it's seeing.

Library Server
When I start the Library Server on the server, It says:

10/02/09 08:16:01 - Trying Port 81

Then I go to the client and open MC, I go to File -> Library -> Search for Library Servers and I receive a "Failed to find local Library Server" massage.

So I tried to add a library manually using the Library Manager. I type 'Martin' in the Name and '10.0.0.1:81' in the Location and hit the Load button.
then I have a "Media Center failed to load the library 'Martin' and will attempt to load the previously selected library."

I tried the 'http://10.0.0.1:81/GetLibrary' in a browser, as it says in the Wiki but received an error again (IE Cannot display...) then I tried to change setting in the router - Firewall etc. Tried to disable the firewall and also port forward but nothing solved this problem.

I thought maybe I'm putting the wrong numbers in the firewall or port forward, though I did try few variations.



Remote Server

When I open a browser on the client and type "http://martin:81" it think for few secs and return an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
(I receive the same massage if typing the IP - 10.0.0.1 instead of the name)
