mc2xml.exe is not a valid win32 application???
« on: October 02, 2009, 04:17:43 pm »

I'm installing MC (for TV) on a new system (win7-64) and I'm getting this error.  This has worked for me in the past so I'm not sure what the problem is.  I downloaded a new mc2xml.exe from their website, but MC gives me the "invalid win32 application" when I try to load the program guide (by checking the "mc2xml" option.  Any ideas?

You need to download it again.

Their server terminates the download if you take too long picking a path.  I've seen an incomplete executable on several machines because of this.

Thanks.  That solved it.  BTW, is there any thought to somehow automating the process of mapping the channels to the program listing.  Its quite a tedious process (for some reason I feel the need to map all 70+ channels).

It tries to match automatically by name.

Could you give some examples of some of your mappings?  Maybe we could improve the algorithm.

This is the screen I'm referring to.

Do I not have to choose each channel from the dropdown list?

We do automatic name matching for ATSC channels.  These are the only ones that we have reasonable clues.  Cable channels do not come with names.
