Direct-x plugin forgets status after MC restart

I use the Direct-x Host to run a convolver dll.  The problem is the fact the convolver was selected and enabled seems to be lost after leaving MC.  When I come back into MC I have to go through the steps to select and enable it all over again.  Is there some setting to tell MC to remember plugin settings perhaps?
