[BUG] Media Import & OGG files
« on: July 06, 2002, 01:13:36 am »

If trying to import a OGG file with a track name like this : "Mondsüchtig", it's name get changed to : "Mondsüchtig"

This does not happen with MP3 & MPC files

The ogg file has been encoded with MJ, and the file name was ok then.

Yes, I'm sorry to post to my own post...

MJ seems to have a problem with the "é" char. as well..

Is this gonna be looked into, or is it just the way OGG-Tags works? :(

Older builds of MJ 8.0 used to save OGG tags wrong. (didn't UTF encode the values)  So, you may have to fix the names by hand and let MJ resave.  After that, everything should be good.

Sorry...

Is sad to see that a program I paid for, can't even do what a free program like WinAMP can :-(

Step 1 : Encode a song...(in OGG format)
Artist : "Blümchen"
Song name : "Geh'n Wie Ein Ägytper"
Album name : "Die Welt Gehört Dir"

As long as I don't remove/relocate the *file* everything is fine in MJ..

Step 2 : Remove the file from the MJ database (not deleting the file itself).

Step 3 : Either use "Import Media" from the "Library" menu, or "Open Media File" from the "File Menu".

Now it looks like this inside MJ:

Artist : "Blümchen"
Song name : "Geh'n Wie Ein Ägytper"
Album name : "Die Welt Gehört Dir"

Step 4 : Try and open the same file in Winamp (with the OGG plug-in of couse).

Artist : "Blümchen"
Song name : "Geh'n Wie Ein Ägytper"
Album name : "Die Welt Gehört Dir"

Every Thing is, as it sould be....

So I can only see this as a fault of Media Jukebox and not the OGG format itself....
