« on: July 05, 2002, 08:44:20 am »

I Have XP and for some reason every 5-15 cd's riped cause my transfer mode to go from DMA (where I get 11x - 13x) to PIO (Where I get 6X. Is any body else having this problem? Is It XP or MJ causing the transfer mode to change? Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone Repprodude it?

I had this same problem on Win2000 too...it's a Windows feature (get used to it).  Actually, the only way I resolved it (I think) was to reconfigure where my CD-RW drive was on my IDE controller (Pri/Sec & 0/1 device...which required reconfiguring all my HDs and CD-Roms).  I did this about 1 year ago and it seems to be working (not been back to PIO mode since).
