Agreed. If the end of the world as we know it is nigh... bring it on :)

So, while the internet still exists, here are some fun image files for your enjoyment...

First, a couple of fun .gif images...
I don't know what it is about this one, but it kind of cracks me up in a simple sort of way

Clever use of transparency..

How about optical illusions...
Here, the dots appear to ripple, but don't really. This is not an animated gif image.

and this one works really well for me...

This is not an illusion nor a clever gif image, it's just a photograph of a rose taken by my Mum, and I personally think it's a top drawer photo that works great as a desktop background

If you'd like the full size image drop me a line saying why and I'm sure Mum will be cool about it (It's her photo so I'd need to ask).

I've also got a few illusional images by Escher here that are really quite interesting, and Julian Beever does some extremely clever stuff with chalk and pavements. There are loads of images out there that are interesting for all kinds of different reasons, so, you have any favourites you want to share?

You know those images that are supposed to reveal a 3D object when you stare at them for bit allowing your eyes to relax? They've got a name but it escapes me right now, well, they simply will not work for me. It used to annoy me, but not since I decided that my brain must be too smart to be fooled by such nonsense ;)
