Request: Better handling of flash drives
« on: November 24, 2009, 06:42:06 pm »

For several weeks now, I have been unable to properly remove flash drives from my computer. I always got the warning that the drive was in use and could not be ejected, but as far as I knew, nothing was using the drive. I just now figured out that is was because MC had latched onto the drive as a "handheld" without warning me. I think this should be handled better.

Perhaps MC could prompt you the first time the drive is inserted with something like:
MC had detected a new flash drive. Do you want to use this drive with MC?
If yes, it could go on to handle it the way it does now.
If no, it should no longer detect that drive when it's inserted. You could put up the same warning you do as when the remove and forget option is chosen under handheld options.
