Audio Won't Play on Some MPG's
« on: December 19, 2009, 11:05:34 pm »

Okay I'm not stupid and I have looked through lots of posts trying to get help before I asked.  I have some MPG's that play quite well in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center but do not play audio in JR Media Center 14.  I have other MPG's that play audio in JR MC 14.  What is up?!?  Something to do with Codecs and/or Filters I surmise, but there are way too many and I am not sure what to set where.  How can I make these *.mpg 's play in JR MC 14?  I really like to use the JR interface for music and want to use it for ALL my videos.  Any help or was there something in the 110,000+ posts I should have already read to solve this???

Take a look at our wiki on DirectShow and CCCP.

Well I read through these multi-page, multi-thread pointing to multi-page, multi- thread, ad nausium Wiki's which indicated to me that I should install the CCCP after uninstalling 311 pre-existing individual codecs and filters using a run line command like:

regsvr32.exe /U "C:\Program Files\DirectShow_Filters\newfilter.ax"

311 times!

This sounds like a very bad solution!!!

Just try installing CCCP.  Uncheck the options for showing in the tasktray for FFDShow and Haali (3x).
