avcHD import
« on: October 04, 2009, 09:16:26 pm »

Since video is now largely moving to to a file based rather than tape based system, it would be good if JRiver made moves to be able to import from those devices. I believe that avcHD has a fairly standard folder structure.

There are posters on a pro video forum that I read asking about good import/organization software for avchd files. I'd love to be able to tell them about MC.

+1 for the avcHD support. That'd be sweet! :-X

Just spent the last 3 hours correcting the date created attribute for hundreds of files due to poor camcorder ingest software. If MC would step up to the challenge, "Import Video from camcorders" would be another great selling point for the software. It would really beef up the "video capabilities" leg of MC's publicity. I can't see anything even on the distant horizon that is going to replace the avcHD files/folder method of recordng video. Once implemented I dont imagine this feature would require too much maintenance (easy for me to say).
