I'm using Media Jukebox, v. 12. In the "Recently imported" pane, There's a box with the text "Click here to add notes". I can type anything in the box, then it seems to disappear. I assumed it would be stored on one of the tags for the selected files?

I figured it out. The not is for the play list, per se.
